The proprietor and practice principal of County Physio Ltd is Maureen Blake BSc MCSP, Adv Cert NMA (Moving and Handling), PG Cert (Back Care Management), Registered Member of the Health Professions Council.

She is a registered member of the National Back Exchange (NBE), an accredited member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE), member of the Association of Orthopaedic Chartered Physiotherapists (AOCP), past Chairperson of the Lothian Manual Handling Network Group and a member of the Scottish Manual Handling Forum. Maureen is also a member of PhysioFirst, the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice.

Maureen and her team of highly professional and experienced physiotherapists aim to provide a comprehensive, skilled range of physiotherapy services, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and Occupational Health Physiotherapy and are highly skilled and qualified to help individuals and businesses to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a healthy workforce.

We will work in partnership with our clients to restore full health and to prevent the onset or return of problems which can affect all aspects of life at home, leisure or work.

Maureen can provide aid in the work-place for realistic ergonomic advice and recommendations to reduce and/or prevent a range of work related problems and offer complete training and assessment packages tailor made to suit individual circumstances.

Our Team
Our team of physiotherapists covers a far-reaching spectrum of specialist areas and clients can be directed to the most appropriate member of the team if requiring dedicated expert help for their problem.

Amy Coventry BSc (Hons), MCSP and registered with the Health Professions Council has 2 year's experience working in New Zealand and brings with her a wealth of different skills and experience. She has gained experience in the use of Mulligans mobilisation techniques, exercise prescription and completed the KT1 and KT2 kinesiology taping course. She also worked closely with a local rugby team during training and matches providing advice, treatment and rehabilitation for injuries sustained and now works with Dunbar Rugby Club and continues to gain excellent skills in Musculo-skeletal and sports physiotherapy. Amy has a Pilates class instructor qualification.

Leanne Reid Leanne graduated in 2008 with an MSc in physiotherapy and is registered with the HCPC and CSP. She has since acquired many skills in a wide range of areas. She has travelled to Australia where she gained valuable musculo-skeletal experience which includes dry-needling, Pilates, sports injuries and back pain management.

She is a welcome addition to the team and adds to the skill-mix offered.

Lorraine Aitken BSc (HONS), MCSP, HCPC registered
Lorraine Aitken has more than 20 years experience in Physiotherapy. After working in a wide range of areas (including orthopaedics and elderly rehabilitation) she specialised in musculoskeletal (MSK) problems treating spinal problems, joint and muscular pain. Lorraine is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), regularly using acupuncture along with more traditional forms of physiotherapy. She has extensive experience of working in Occupational Health assessing and treating clients with MSK problems and advising on return to work programmes.

Heather Blake Heather qualified with a degree in Occupational Therapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2007. She has gained a wide range of experience in various areas of the profession including community settings, in-patient (orthopaedic rehab), paediatrics, adults, older people and mental health.

Heather is an independent Occupational Therapist and offers home visits to assess and offer advice on specialist equipment provision, home adaptation and independent living skills.

Stuart Bertram Stuart Bertram is a Remedial Massage and Sports Therapist and is the newest addition to the team at County Physio. He has gained a level 5 advanced Diploma in Sports Therapy and is registered with the STO.

Stuart uses a range of soft tissue and sport therapy techniques including remedial, sports and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, dry needling for trigger point release and joint mobilisations designed to help recovery from muscular complaints and injuries sustained in daily life.

Sports Therapy can also increase performance in your chosen sport.

Stuart has experience in working with a wide variety of people ranging from office workers to professional golfers and dancers. He has a particular interest in golf performance and related injuries.

Stuart is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Therapist.

All our staff are accomplished neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapists but as noted above, additional skills available include:
